Located on 50 acres on the rocky forested north slope of the Detroit Lake water shed, the siting affords expansive views of the valley and surrounding forest.  The house was designed in concert with the year around creek and pond to take advantage of this resource.  Many massive boulders were found during excavation and a few boulders are placed within the volume of the house.
