Older homes often have years of bad remodels piled on top of each other, and this house was no exception.  The design approach was mostly subtractive...creating an open floor plan that is both functional & and flexible.  Once surveyed we discovered the entire house was lined with 1x4 T&G doug fir paneling.  Working with the owners we decided to salvage as much as we could for reuse in the remodel. Once again...treated like a boat we carved out every square inch of usable space to make this small house function and feel larger than it is.
