Portland has many unreinforced brick buildings that are often neglected and unsafe.  The owner has a passion for saving these historic resources and bringing this 1928 unreinforced brick building back into the city fabric as a safe functioning building was paramount.  Our work together resulted in a complete seismic upgrade, a reorganization of tenant spaces, and a new exiting system with a new central lobby that unifies all three floors, reinforcing the sense of community within the building. Once the core and shell were underway we developed the space planning and Tenant Improvements for all three floors.  We collaborated with Fieldwork Design for the interior design of the now-popular Kann Restaurant run by Gregory Gourdets.
